South African professional nurses are familiar with the Nurses' Pledge of Service. Who wrote it? When? Is it still valued by today's nurses? These are questions that we need to answer.
To get you interested: attached is a scanned copy of the Nurses' Pledge in English and Xhosa.
The Xhosa translation was done by Reverend Njengabantubonke Yapi on request of the DENOSA Eastern Cape branch. (note photo on attached page)
